Supporting a pipeline of talent through its Graduate Scheme, with a clear path of progression in place, Edmundson Electrical Portadown’s experienced team prides itself on developing and maintaining long- term relationships with customers. The team at Edmundson Electrical Portadown has quadrupled since the business opened its doors with only four staff as Walsall Conduits in the Seagoe Industrial Estate back in 1975. within the electrical wholesale industry in Northern Ireland, ranging in service from new starts to 42 years,” says Chris. “We tend to find that when a customer gives us the opportunity and experiences the service we offer, they stay with us for the long term.” With Edmundson Electrical placing an emphasis on internal training and progression, most of the team at the Portadown branch started out as van drivers within the business. One staff member joined from a competitor eight years ago, and another joined four years ago from outside the industry. Two of the team are currently undertaking the Edmundson Electrical Graduate Scheme, which uses the Electrical Distributors’

Association Product Knowledge Workbook Programme as a core component. The Portadown branch can also draw on Edmundson Electrical’s expertise as the UK’s largest electrical wholesaler, and its stockholding across Northern Ireland. “With over £5m of stock across our network in Northern Ireland, our customers can drop into any of our facilities and experience the same service as here in Portadown,” says Chris. “We tend to find that when a customer gives us the opportunity and experiences the service we offer, they stay with us for the long term.”
