• Secure self-service payment platform: The system will offer a fully-automated Payment Card Industry-compliant payment solution, allowing RECs to view complete transaction histories and download order receipts at any time. • Simplified and secure login: Logins will be directly linked to the email address provided in the REC scheme application, enabling easy and secure access. • Centralised certificate dashboard: The ECS dashboard will give RECs access to their full certificate history, including notices of hazard and periodic inspection reports, with advanced search and filtering capabilities. • Faster certificate generation: Updated and intuitive forms will allow for quicker creation of certificates, reducing time spent on administrative tasks. • Direct integration with SIMS: The ECS will connect directly to the Safe Electric Scheme Information Management System, enabling faster validation and reducing the need for paper submissions.

• Secure document storage: Important documents, such as test record sheets and notices of hazard, will be securely stored and accessible for annual inspections. • Built-in compliance monitoring: The dashboard will prominently display insurance and QC expiry dates, helping RECs stay compliant with scheme requirements. • Streamlined employee management: RECs will be able to manage their QCs from within the platform, adding or removing individuals as needed. • Updated certificate formats: All certificate formats will be compliant with Chapter 6 of IS 10101, ensuring alignment with the latest regulations. A new Electronic Certification System (ECS) is to be launched by Safe Electric, ushering in a new era of efficiency and digital innovation for Registered Electrical Contractors (RECs) across the Republic of Ireland. As the statutory regulatory scheme overseeing electrical contractors with respect to safety, Safe Electric ensures RECs adhere to national safety standards and technical rules. The introduction of ECS represents a significant transformation and will replace both the existing Electronic Completion Certificates and traditional paper-based processes after a transition period. With ECS, all certification documents will be prepared by a qualified certifier (QC) and validated by a principal duty holder electronically, streamlining compliance workflows and enhancing data accuracy.
