ican pulpit provides in a month. 488 pages; cloth; Zondervan; $7.95. The Psychology of Jesus and Mental Health By Raymond L. Cramer Taking the statements of the Beati tudes as bases for the various chapters in this book, the author develops the thesis that they are pertinent to the psychological needs found in a city school system and in Christian camps. He contends that the psychology of Jesus proves to be an entirely ade quate and workable system. Fear, rage, overconcem, the appeal of free dom, and attitude reconstruction are among the problems handled in these pages. Illustrative situations are de scribed. A rating chart is provided at the end of the book. Cowman Pub. You Can Trust The Communists by Fred Schwartz The author points out the important fact that we in this country do not realize that the Communists mean exactly what they say with such state ments, “We will bury you.” Prob lems arise when we do not face the menace which is evident in our land. Where other publications on the subject have left the reader to won der if there is any answer, this ex cellent volume shows that there is a clear, understandable program for counterattack. Based not upon fear, but knowledge and understanding, the Christian must realize the inten tions of the Red system and proceed from there. 187 pages; cloth; Prentice- Hall, Inc., Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey; $2.95. Each week, hundreds of business men across the nation receive the stimulating and challenging letter “ Perspective” by Richard Halverson. A one page pointed message of in spiration and dedication to Christ has meant salvation, renewed purpose, and greater service for countless num bers. Now compiled in book form, these messages are as vital for any servant of Christ. The publication would ap pear to be a valuable gift to present to the busy businessman who has seemed to have little time for the things of the Lord. 259 pages; cloth; Cowman Publications, Los Angeles. Man To Man by Richard C. Halverson

A Commentary on the Epistle of Jude By Richard Wolff

INSPIRATIONAL BOOKS F O R E A S T E R R E A D I N G A N D I G I V I N G . . .

Full length expositions of Jude are not common. This one is the work of a Hebrew Christian who escaped the Nazis in Europe and is now working with the Back to the Bible Broadcast. He is linguistically gifted and has read widely in preparing these com ments. He quotes profusely. By com paring various interpretations and examining the Greek grammatical and syntactical structure, he allows the reader to follow him in his inter pretations. Jewish literature is drawn upon. There is a good bibliography of three pages. The book will be found extremely useful to anyone studying the Epistle or teaching or preaching from it. 150 pages; cloth; Zondervan Pub. House, Grand Rapids; $2.50. Many annotated Bibles have been published, and many reissued in re cent years. This appears to be the first new work of this kind for some time. Every one has its own particu lar contribution to make to Bible study. Each has materials that cannot be gotten together from other books without a great deal of work and study. This one is the result of years of patient study by the author over a period of forty-one years. He is co founder and vice-president of Bible Research Foundation, Inc., of Atlanta, Ga., and a radio minister. The format consists of four columns, two of text and two of comments. The text columns are in the middle of the page. Captions are numerous and tied together by a detailed outline. The notes are of many kinds, includ ing discussion of difficult words, illus trations, allusions to history, the sci ences, to nature, etc. Homiletic and expository outlines abound. Impor tant phrases are underlined both in the text and in the notes. Book sum maries, questions, and additional notes are to be found at the end of each book. Daniel, the Psalms, and Proverbs are included with this New Testament volume. We believe that almost any page of this work presented to a congrega tion in its Biblical text with the notes attached, and some use of cross refer ences, would provide more solid Bibli cal exposition than the average Amer Annotated Reference Bible The New Testament by Finis J.
