The Property Portfolio

The Estate Hampshire is a diverse county, with many rural areas coupled with significant urban regions, notably the cities of Portsmouth and Southampton in the South of the county. Hampshire Fire & Rescue Authority owns a significant property estate, held primarily for the delivery of frontline services. The portfolio consists of 51 fire stations, a training centre, vehicle workshop and a joint Fire and Police headquarters building. The following statistics offer an indication of the property portfolio: • Overall land ownership of 16.3 hectares. • Comprising a total of 52 separate properties. • Total building floor area of 42,776 square metres. Value, Cost and Income As at the date of publication, the HFRS Estate has an asset value in excess of £100million. The premises costs we incur for owning and occupying property account for approximately 8% of the Service’s annual budget.
