International investment in the U.S. real estate market has grown dramatically over recent years. As a result, more and more real estate professionals are working with clients from other countries. Foreign buyers are drawn by comparatively lower- priced homes, favorable currency exchange rates or finding a haven for themselves and their money. These buyers are attractive as clients because most are cash purchases and foreign buyers typically buy higher priced homes. This session explores how to competently serve these clients by employing a risk management road map. 9 a.m. – Noon How’s That Working Out for You? Trista Curzydlo, Esq. Are the property videos that you’ve been taking with your drone going viral? There have been a lot of changes in real estate recently and this session looks at five: website and application compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act; the Federal Aviation Administration’s new rules on Unmanned Aircraft Systems; audio and video recordings of property showings; the impact of the Fair Housing Act on new technology; and how state law decriminalization of marijuana and the Federal government enforcement of the Controlled Substances Act impacts real estate.
