Planning and Building Applications If you are planning to develop or renovate your property, you may need approval before you get started. Planning and building rules are set out by the Planning, Development and Infrastructure Act 2016 and are available on PlanSA. They describe which developments are appropriate for different areas and how they should be built. The rules are used to assess a development for planning and building approvals. Council recently appointed development experts MasterPlan to provide planning services on its behalf. Building approval on the other hand can be assessed by private certifiers. The Limestone Coast Local Government Association, Regional Development Australia Limestone Coast and Grant, Kingston, Mount Gambier, Naracoorte Lucindale, Robe, Tatiara and Wattle Range Councils have joined forces to develop a strategy that will support the region’s growth and prosperity. National Volunteer Week 20-26 May 2024
There is a new look to our National Volunteer Week celebrations. We are excited to invite our district’s volunteers to the inaugural Volunteer Recognition Reception on 26 May 2024 . Mayor Goossens hopes this special occasion will become an annual event to recognise and celebrate the contributions of the Tatiara’s volunteers together. Join us for a tasting table, light refreshments and an opportunity to socialise with other volunteers from across the district. Please take some time and nominate a volunteer for Tatiara Volunteer of the Year Award . Nominations close on 6 May 2024 . Due to a resignation, a casual vacancy has occurred in the office of Area Councillor for Tatiara District Council. A supplementary election will held to fill the vacancy. Becoming a member of Council is one of the most direct ways that you can contribute to our community and influence decisions that affect our local area.
