Planning and Building Applications If you are planning to develop or renovate your property, you may need approval before you get started. Planning and building rules are set out by the Planning, Development and Infrastructure Act 2016 and are available on PlanSA. They describe which developments are appropriate for different areas and how they should be built. The rules are used to assess a development for planning and building approvals. Council recently appointed development experts MasterPlan to provide planning services on its behalf. Building approval on the other hand can be assessed by private certifiers. A list of private certifiers can be found here: https://plan.sa.gov.au/accredited_professionals_re gister or contact us on ph. 8752 1044 for more information. There is a new look to our National Volunteer Week celebrations. We are excited to invite our district’s volunteers to the inaugural Volunteer Recognition Reception on 26 May 2024 . Mayor Goossens hopes this special occasion will become an annual event to recognise and celebrate the contributions of the Tatiara’s volunteers together. Join us for a tasting table, light refreshments and an opportunity to socialise with other volunteers from across the district. Please take some time and nominate a volunteer for Tatiara Volunteer of the Year Award . Nominations close on 6 May 2024 . To assist with arrangements, please RSVP to the Bordertown Council office on 8752 1044 or Keith Council office on 8755 3347 by 20 May 2024 . We look forward to seeing you! Becoming a member of Council is one of the most direct ways that you can contribute to our community and influence decisions that affect our local area.
