Township Residents Please be reminded that due to summer rain there may be extra grass/weed growth on vacant blocks and residential properties. We are still in the fire danger season so we ask that residents keep mowing their property to reduce the fire risk.

5 day or weekly permits may be issued for up to five (5) separate burns and can be included on the one permit. We request that you re-apply if the burns are not completed that week. Bordertown Office 8752 1044 Keith Office 8755 3347 Fire Prevention Officer 0427 191 755 Permits will be issued from 20 March until the season ends on 15 April 2024. Stubble Burning Permits Landowners that require Stubble Burning Permits are requested to call our offices at Keith or Bordertown or the Fire Prevention Officer, prior to 11.00 am on the day of the burn. We request that landowners have the following information at hand to streamline the Permit issuing process: Closest rural address Mobile number of the person conducting the burn Name of nearest road access Property name Grid reference of burn (obtained from CFS map book and page number) Property name if applicable

European Wasps In the last couple of years we have received reports of European wasps in the area. If you find a European wasp nest on Council land, please let us know so that it can be destroyed. The destruction of any European wasp nests on private land is the responsibility of the landholder at their own cost. For more information please call our General Inspector on 0427 191 755
