Why not try some of the following questions with your young person. This could be done when picking them up from school, around meal times or before bed.

• What made you smile today?

• In what ways were you creative?

At The Lakes we are constantly asking children to critically reflect upon their learning, their strengths and their actions. The act of allowing time and space for a child to process the question and formulate an answer is important. Just as important, is our capacity for deep and active listening.
