SEALED SYSTEMS

Altecnic Robokit Extra®

connected permanently to a boiler. After the system has been filled and pressurised, the service valves must be closed, the system isolated and the flexible hose removed and stored until it is used again. The Altecnic ALT-ST0035 filling loop consists of a double-check valve, a flexible hose with union connectors, sealing washers, and a ball-isolating valve with a 4-bar pressure gauge. This can be pre- installed into the isolation valve, meaning that when isolated from the flexi loop and double check valve attached to the mains, it is exposed to the system pressure in the heating circuit. With this in mind, the ALT- ST0035 has been designed to be installed in places engineers and homeowners can easily access without the need to disturb

the boiler. This means that they can read the system pressure, check for pressure drop and, if needed, top up the system quickly. EXTRA PROTECTION WITH A SAFETY RELIEF VALVE Safety-relief valves are typically used for controlling pressure on boilers in heating systems, on stored hot water cylinders in domestic hot water systems, and in water systems generally. When the calibrated pressure is reached, the valve opens and, through discharge in the atmosphere, prevents the pressure of the system from reaching levels which would be dangerous for the boiler and components in the system itself. By doing this, the safety of a

system is maintained, and it can continue working efficiently.

ADDITIONAL COMPONENTS To improve the experience for an installer, Altecnic have developed a neat, simple four-way connector called the “Quattro”. The Quattro facilitates the connection of the water inlet, safety valve, pressure vessel and the system. It is also the only four-way connection that gives the installer the possibility for either left or right installation on the system. The Quattro is featured in the Altecnic Robokit Extra®. Finally, a mounting bracket enables installers to fit the sealed system with ease, ensuring that the expansion vessel is not left unsupported on the pipework. By providing the most high-quality products in a single kit, Altecnic aim to make converting open vent systems to a sealed system easy, especially as we move into the busiest season of the year for plumbing and heating engineers.

“Altecnic make converting from an open-vented to a sealed system easy by packaging all the components an installer needs into the ‘Robokit Extra®’.”
