HOW PHYSICAL THERAPY CAN HELP YOU TO BE HE A LTH I E R

flexibility, balance, and overall mobility. For example, your physical therapist will guide you through a series of exercises designed to help the injury and return to your pre-injury abilities. We will start with pain management and restoring mobility to the injured area. Next, we will focus on progressing your strength and dynamic stability exercises designed to restore function and prevent injuries. We will also incorporate balance and coordination exercises to stimulate the nervous system and help ensure you can avoid an injury in the future. Your physical therapist will assist you with many of these exercises and provide some simple ones that you can do at home. The end goal of physical therapy is living the life you want, free from painful limitations. That can only happen when you apply the concepts from your treatments to the outside world. Our physical therapists are as dedicated as you are and will encourage you to achieve all the goals you outlined in the beginning. What To Expect From Your Physical Therapy Sessions Some people try to mask their symptoms with anti-inflammatory or pain-relieving medications, while others, unfortunately, give up on the idea of being active altogether. With the help of a physical therapist, it is possible to reclaim your pain-free, healthy lifestyle and get back to doing the activities you love. Everyone has different needs based on the conditions of their bodies. There is no cookie-cutter approach to health and wellness, as one treatment plan may not work the same for one person as it would for another. Your physical therapist will work closely with you to evaluate your needs and provide you with a comprehensive plan to achieve your goals. Once your physical therapist has a clear picture of what you need, they will begin constructing a treatment plan to help relieve your pain and live a healthier lifestyle. Contact Us Today!

Physical therapists are movement experts who can help improve your quality of life by developing an exercise program, providing hands-on care, and educating about your condition and overall health and well-being. A physical therapist is educated in analyzing your ability to perform regular movements (i.e., functional mobility). By analyzing how you move, your therapist can identify issues with bending, stretching, squatting, kneeling, walking, running, jumping, and almost every other form of physical activity. Our physical therapists will pinpoint problem areas and create a customized treatment plan to improve those areas. Through in-office sessions and at-home exercises, you will learn to restore your joint and soft tissue mobility as well as strengthen your muscles, improve your balance, and experience pain relief, all without the unwanted harmful risks of drugs or surgery. Physical therapy treatments target your needs and goals! Our physical therapists will perform an examination to develop a treatment plan to improve your ability to move, reduce or manage pain, restore function, and prevent disability. We also will work with you to help you achieve your fitness goals and lead an active life. Our physical therapists will cater your treatment plan around specific movements designed to increase your strength,

As a parent, it’s normal to be worried about falls and other accidents. Kids are clumsy, rambunctious, and almost always on the move! It’s hard not to worry about them getting injured, especially when they play a sport. With fall sports starting up again, we want to assist you in preventing sports injuries from placing your child on the sidelines. So we’ve put together a list of preventative measures for keeping your child healthy and active this season! 1 Monitor their diet and nutrition. Encourage your child to consume a nutritious diet made up of organic, healthy ingredients. Make sure your little one stays hydrated with plenty of water. It’s also a good idea to ensure they maintain a steady electrolyte balance. 2 Teach your child to speak up about any pain. Children may “play through the pain” or not acknowledge common injury signs. These actions may place them at risk for making a relatively mild condition more serious. Recognizing a possible sprain or FALL SPORTS SAFETY TIPS FOR KIDS 4

stress fracture is key to getting immediate care and resolution so that they may go back to play. Teaching your child to address pain and dysfunction early is very important for their overall health. 3 Encourage them to take proper warm-ups and cool-downs. Children are excited to get into the game and tend to be in a rush to get into practices — and just as anxious to get out of them when they’re finished. However, participating in athletics without first warming up may lead to preventable injuries. A cardiovascular warm-up such as jogging with some gentle stretching may be all that is needed to avoid these issues. After the exercise, a cool down and stretch routine also helps the tissues recover from their workout. 4 Promote safe play. Even the most physically fit children will get into trouble if they disregard safe play guidelines. Appropriate use of helmets and other protective gear is key — so be sure it fits your child well and is worn correctly.

Patient Spotlights What our patients have to say!

“I had shoulder pain, an ankle injury, and knee pain when I came in. I have had an amazing experience here, starting from the front desk (Missy) to my therapist (Ankita). All are very helpful and friendly. Ankita is very knowledgeable, professional, punctual, and super helpful. She was correct in her diagnosis, explaining the root cause of the problems I was experiencing. With Ankita’s help, I am feeling so much better now. Thank you, Ankita and team!” - Jayati D.

“When I first started, I was skeptical about what type of treatment I would receive. After I met with Ankita, she showed me the proper way to heal my aches and pain. She was very professional, kind, and brutally honest each visit. She knew when I had done my exercises at home and when I didn’t. She guided me through a series of exercises and training that finally conquered the pain and restored my balance. Thank you for your patience and guidance in getting me back to feeling normal and well - All the best!” - John R.
