NATURE NESTERS Nature Nesters is a nature-based preschool program designed to engage little minds and bodies while they learn about various topics of the natural world. Participants can expect to sing songs, make a craft and get a little messy. Nature Nesters programs are designed for children ages six and under. Parents and guardians are required to stay with their children during the program. Program topics are posted monthly on the DFNC Facebook page, facebook.com/ deloresfenwicknaturecenter . HOMESCHOOL PROGRAMS Let’s go exploring together! Each Homeschool Program will dive into various STEAM-aligned topics to engage curiosity and further the understanding of the natural world. Participants can expect activities that include outdoor exploration, experiments and live animal encounters. Pre- registration is required to attend this drop-off program. Participant drop-off is from at 10:15 to 10:30 a.m. and pick- up is from 12 to 12:15 p.m. Wed., January 25 / 10:30 a.m.–12 p.m.
CAMP PELICAN Returning in Summer 2023—CAMP PELICAN—the Pearland Environmental Learning Institute for Conservation, Adventure and Nature! These specialty, nature-themed camps are designed to bring children closer to nature and foster a further love and understanding of the natural world. Each day of these week-long camps will be filled with exploration and educational lessons about Texas wildlife, habitats and more! Information about weekly themes and pricing are coming soon! DFNC NATURE NOVELTIES SWAP SHOP Find something neat on the street? Want to talk about your cool rock? On the second Saturday each month, children and adults will be able to bring in their nature finds to swap for other curiosities or nature center novelties. NATURE WORKSHOP SERIES In 2023, we’re serving up some piping hot brain food to go with your piping hot coffee in our Nature Workshop Series. On select Saturday mornings, workshops will cover topics such as pollinator gardening tips, practical camping gear and anything nature-related in-between. Come early to take a tour of the Nature Center and meet other nature-loving adults. Pre-registration is required to attend this program. FAMILY FUN DAYS The DFNC is turning four during Spring Break 2023! From March 14-18, we’ll host educational mini-lessons scheduled at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. and will celebrate with outdoor games and scavenger hunts all day long.
