FAMILY NATURE TRIVIA NIGHT Prepare to test your nature knowledge as we stump even the most dedicated nature lovers during this high-stakes, family friendly Nature Trivia Night. Come early to grab some grub from one of the fantastic food trucks or bring your own supply of drinky drinks and snacky snacks to enjoy during the exciting rounds of nature trivia. First place winners will receive a special prize. Pre-registration is required for all persons attending ages 4 years and older and a smart device is needed for participation during the event. Fri., January 27 / 6-8 p.m. $5/person 4+ Years DFNC FENWICK FLEDGLINGS Fenwick Fledglings will challenge children ages 5 years and older to use critical thinking skills while engaging with the natural world. Participants can expect to use the scientific method, document experiment results and enjoy the outdoors. Parents and guardians are required to stay with children during this program. Program topics are posted each month on the DFNC Facebook page at facebook.com/ deloresfenwicknaturecenter. Pre-registration is required to attend this program. Build it. Place it. Watch them move in! Join our Park Naturalist on Saturday, March 25, from 1:30-3 p.m., to create a bug motel for a variety of Pearland’s native insects. During this workshop, we will discuss bugs that will inhabit the motels and learn proper maintenance and placement while participants create a bug motel to take home. Pre-registration fees cover the

cost of the necessary building materials for one Bug Motel. Registered participants may bring one additional person, aged 18 and older who is named during registration, to help build the Bug Motel. From March 10 - 19, help the Natural Resources Division document species living in our natural spaces at the Shadow Creek Ranch Nature Trail and the John Hargrove Environmental Complex (JHEC) during the Spring 2023 Pearland BioBlitz Event. Participation is free with an account through the iNaturalist app or website. Persons with the most observations made during this time and with the most different species will receive a special prize!
