ADVENTURE DAYS—SPRING BREAK When school is out Adventure Days are in! Pearland Parks & Recreation offers Adventure Days for children needing care on extended school holidays, including spring break. We have planned fun activities and projects each day of the break from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Each day campers will be engaged in a fun interactive art project. Campers also will participate in the traditional summer camp’s action- oriented activities and games. Participants will need to pack a lunch and two snacks; we will provide the fun in a safe and secure environment.
ABRAKADOODLE – SATURDAY ART CLASSES Like balloons in the sky, we are up, up and away. We'll learn about the Polish art of paper cutting called Wycinanki. We'll focus on designs from the Lowicz Region, where paper is layered to create a colorful, dramatic effect. Also, we’ll simulate “gilding”—an art form widely used by the ancient Romans. Gilding involves applying real gold leaf to surfaces. We'll learn about two great American artists—LeRoy Neiman, known best for his art depicting sports and circus animals, and Norman Rockwell who recorded everyday life in his paintings. Rockwell received America’s highest honor—the Presidential Medal of Freedom for his vivid and affectionate portraits of America. Sat., January 7-February 4 / 9–9:45 a.m. (2-3 years and must be accompanied by adult)
Mon.-Fri., March 13-17 / 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. $150 residents / $187.50 non-residents
