Schooling is compulsory for people aged 6 to 17 years (unless an exemption from attendance or enrolment has been granted). Daily attendance is important for all students to succeed in education and to ensure they do not fall behind - socially or developmentally. The Lakes believes all students should attend school all day, every day when the school is open for instruction and is committed to working in partnership with the College community to encourage and support full school attendance.

Senior school students are required to have a 90% attendance record at school in each subject to successfully pass any Year 10, 11 or 12 subject. This includes any approved absence. Students who fail to meet this requirement will be asked to attend either break time or after school redemption classes. Families are asked to notify The Lakes South Morang College of absences by recording the absence on Sentral or alternatively contacting the Administration Office on either campus. If a student is absent, and the College has not been notified by a parent/carer, the College will contact families via a Sentral notification to the Parent Portal.

Policies are available to all families via the the Sentral Portal (under Resources) or via our website http://www.thelakes.edu.au/policies -- reports.html
