Contributors Janet Bisti is an educational leader, writer, constant student, and advocate for high-quality teaching and learning for all. Currently she serves as the Director of Elementary Education in Poughkeepsie City School District and an adjunct professor at SUNY New Paltz. michelle g. bulla teaches English at Monroe-Woodbury High School in Central Valley, NY. She is also the 9-12 department chair, an adjunct lecturer in Adolescence Education at SUNY New Paltz, and has been a teacher consultant with the HVWP since 2020. You can find her musing about her work at TranscendingPedagogy.com . Olga Choedron is an ENL teacher at Duzine Elementary School in New Paltz where she lives. She is a yoga and meditation enthusiast. She loves biking and hiking, cooking and traveling with her family.
Kim Ellis joined HVWP in 2003. She continues to participate joyfully in a variety of Writing Project programs.
Amy Estersohn is a HVWP teacher consultant based in Westchester County. She joined HVWP in 2021 and has remained active in Saturday Seminars and summer programming. Emily Frawley is a writer and photographer who blends a love for storytelling with a passion for the outdoors. With a deep respect for wild places and wild creatures, her adventures to capture the perfect shot often influence her writing. She completed the HVWP Institute for Leadership in the Teaching of Writing in 2025. Edward Gold has been teaching English, screenwriting and creative writing at Monticello High School for the past 17 years. He joined the HVWP in 2020. Katelin Grande has been a participant, returning fellow, and co-facilitator of the HVWP Invitational Institute in addition to a Saturday Seminar co-coordinator. She lives in the Hudson Valley with her husband, children, and cat. She loves family reading parties in the big bed, learning jiu jitsu, and hot coffee.
