In fact, all of the transforming work of our Lord waits upon the co-opera­ tion of willing people. If we would have abundant harvests, He must send the sunshine and the rain, hut you and I are also asked to do our part. As an example, it’s my duty to co-operate with the Lord in eating the right kind of food if I desire to stay well. The same is true in tak­ ing medicine my physician may pre­ scribe. God’s work is no less miracu­ lous because He happens to be assist­ ed by human hands. He works in many different ways, some of which we’ll never understand this side of glory.

He finds a demon-pos­ sessed woman named Mary Magda­ lene and makes her the first herald of the resurrection. He finds an intel­ lectual giant named Paul, the great­ est menace of the early church, and makes him into its greatest mission­ ary. My friend, He’s the same Christ today! How did Christ change the water into wine? He didn’t use any other human hands. It was by the power of the Holy Spirit! Others were called upon to co-operate with Him.
