ADULT Adult Hike with a Naturalist • AGES 18 AND UP

Join a naturalist on an early morning hike to learn about the animals and plants that call Knoch Knolls Park home. The route is mostly over grassy or gravel paths. Younger children may be carried. Bring a water bottle and wear sturdy walking shoes. Program is free but registration is required. Meets on the nature center deck. Parent must remain with their child(ren) during the class. Bring folding lawn chairs and remember your camera! All fishing poles, bait and tackle are provided. We’ll be fishing rain or shine (but not if it’s thundering), so please dress for the weather. Fishing takes place at the Knoch Knolls Park pond. Price is per child; at least one adult must attend with each family. Kits include all of the special supplies you need to create these fun take- home projects! Extra crafts materials are available for an extra fee. An email confirmation will be sent when your kit is ready to pick up. (ah) CODE DATE R/N FIREFLIES KIT: July is Firefly month! Use our Fireflies Nature Discovery Kit to learn about local fireflies and their bright flights. Take home kit includes: Information sheet, firefly book list, coloring/activity sheets, supplies for four (4) firefly crafts, and materials and/or instructions for a flashlight/firefly game. Four additional firefly crafts available for an extra fee. Items not included: crayons or markers, scissors, flashlights and jars with lids. Pick up location: Knoch Knolls Nature Center. Or just curious about the Garden Plots and what is grown there? Visit the plots when they are in their full glory! Pack up the family for a fun Saturday night of camping close to home! Bring your own food for dinner and breakfast. We’ll provide the campfire for Saturday night marshmallow roasting. After dinner, enjoy a naturalist-led twilight hike and S’mores around the campfire.

Each child, ages 3 and up, plus all adults must register. Children younger than 3 are free and do not require registration. Please leave pets at home. A detailed email will be sent one week prior to the event. In case of inclement weather, the campout will take place June 24-25 instead. Check the Rainout Line after 12:00 pm on the day of the campout for the status of the program. Refund requests must be made one week in advance. (ah)
