The knowledge acquired may be of great value to the mother in the home as well^ as to the individual who wishes to follow nursing as a profession. Multnomah School o f the Bible 703 N. E. The Multnomah School of the Bible is located in a residential district within walking distance of downtown Portland. ^ The present quarters, which have housed the institution for the past two years, must give way to larger ones for the coming year. The enrollment numbers ninety as the school closes its second^ year. Thirty-six semester hours of English^ Bible, including Synthesis, Analysis and Exposition, and eighteen semester hours of Sys­ tematic Biblical Theology are among the ninety- six credits required for graduation. Credits from other Bible schools are evaluated and accepted when the^ work meets Multnomah stand­ ards. The school is a member of the Evangelical Teacher Training Association. There is no tuition cost, but a $10 a year registration fee is required. Room and board cost approximately $23 a month. Board is furnished in a central dining hall, and two dormitories house the women, whereas the men live in near-by Christian homes. Mount Hermon Association Mount Hermon, Calif. Excellent training along many lines, designed for the Christian worker, may be coupled with a rest­ ful vacation in the beautiful Santa Cruz Moun­ tains. The Simpson Bible Institute is located in a fine residential district of Seattle. Young people to be accepted as students must be Christians at least 18 years of age, preferably high-school graduates. The school has had a total enrollment of 106 stu­ dents this year. Two-year and three-year courses are offered. No degrees are given. “ The Bible is the core of the curriculum.” J. D. Williams is the President. The school is coeducational, and its purpose is to prepare young people for active Christian serv­ ice at home and abroad; also to prepare for pres­ ent-day Christian living anywhere. The minimum amount necessary for a year’s training is $200, which includes board, room, tuition, and books. Students of _ this Institute receive full credit in other similar institutions. diploma from an accredited high school. Courses are offered in six different fields leading to the degrees of Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Philosophy, and Bachelor of Music. Sterling College was founded fifty-one years ago by the United Presbyterian Church of North America. ^H. A. Kelsey is the President of the college. The aim of the _school is to offer a good liberal arts education with special emphasis upon Christian liv­ ing and solid Christian foundation. The minimum expense is $300 per year, including living expenses and tuition. Sterling is fully accredited in the State of Kansas, but for the lack of funds is not in the North Cen­ tral Association. It recognizes work done by all accredited institutions. (Please see page 276 of this issue.) Stony Brook is on the North Shore of Long Island, about fifty miles from New York City. Work begins with seventh grade and continues through high school. Character references as well as certificate and credits from previous^ school j are required for entrance. Bible study is required throughout the entire curriculum on the average of three periods a week. This Bible course is accred­ ited for entrance to various colleges and^ univer­ sities. The head of the Bible department is Frank E. Gaebelein, Headmaster of the School. The pur­ pose of the institution is to combine evangelical Christian principles with high academic standing in the preparatory field. The Stony Brook School is not coeducational; it is for boys only. The stated rate for tuition and board for the vear is $900. However, in a good many cases, reductions are made according to individual need. This^ par­ ticularly applies to sons of missionaries, ministers, and other Christian workers. Graduates of Stony Brook have entered over sixty different colleges ana universities from California to New England. The certificate of the #school is widely accepted in lieu of entrance examinations. There is a full^ program of athletics. Work in music appreciation is offered. (Please see page 271 of this issue.) Founded in honor of “ the great^ commoner,” after the world-renowned “ Anti-Evolution” (Scopes) Trial, in which he participated, William Jennings Bryan University gives first place to the Bible in all of its instruction. Judson ^A. Rudd ^is the President. The school is coeducational, and its pur­ pose is to give a thoroughly Christian college train­ ing. For tuition, matriculation fees, and board and room for nine months, $265 woula be required. Degrees of Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science may be earned. The classes3are small, and indi­ vidual instruction and Christian fellowship are among the chief attractions of this fine institution located in the Tennessee Valley at the foot of Waldron’s Ridge.
