MATT LEFLER Paths are rarely transparent: ask a handful of people if they think their current situation is exactly how they saw it when they were adolescents or teenagers, and see what answers you get. My path began in college, earning both a BA and MA in English (in the Chicago-area, where I am originally from; Go Cubs!). The next turn brought me to what I thought was my destination: English professor at a small college in Indiana. I remained an active and ambitious member of the faculty for over eight years, but I took a huge detour when my bride-to-be accepted a wonderful job opportunity here in Waco, so we jumped in the car and literally set out on that new trail. Trying to maintain what I thought was my route, I jumped back into education, teaching at a local high school. However, new realizations set in, and my view of education began to focus and evolve. I did not need a
literal classroom to help others realize their potential and dreams—this brought me to the Dwyer Group®, with Mr. Rooter® Plumbing. As with education, and using Mrs. Dina Dwyer-Owens’s own words, here at Dwyer Group I can continue to “help people realize their dreams.” My desire to educate, guide, and serve has not changed. I am excited it to be a part of a team, here at Dwyer Group and Mr. Rooter Plumbing, that not only guides franchisees to realize their potential and dreams, but to realize my own as well. I am honored to be a part of a value-based organization, and I will do my best to live R.I.C.H. Thank you.
