The Driller Boys Wrestling Team is a tough and determined group of student- athletes who bring strength, discipline, and perseverance to the mat. Competing in league matches, tournaments, and championship meets, the team focuses on technical skill, conditioning, and mental toughness while proudly representing BHS. With a tradition of excellence, the team trains rigorously to improve their technique and compete at the highest level. Whether you're an experienced wrestler or looking to learn the sport, the Driller Boys Wrestling Team provides a challenging and supportive environment to grow and succeed.

Team History

Wrestling is deeply engraved in the legacy of Bakersfield High School. Of the 24 top ten team finishes in the state of California, Boys Wrestling has three 1st place finishes (plus two unofficial championships), four 2nd place finishes, and 12 top five finishes. Boys Wrestling has produced 22 State Champions, 138 State Medalist, 100 Valley Champions, and 421 League Champions. Alumni of Driller Wrestling have gone on to earn All- American honors at the Division I level 17 times and is also the proud home of 2012 Olympic Champion, Jake Varner
