Pour protéger nos enfants
Octobre est lemois de la sensibilisation et de la prévention des mauvais traitements infligés aux enfants en Ontario. Afin de briser le silence, Valoris invite toute la po- pulation de Prescott-Russell à participer à cette campagne en portant fièrement des vêtements et des accessoiresmauves le 19 octobre 2016. L’organisme encourage également les commerces à décorer de mauve leur porte principale en guise de solidarité. « L’objectif de la Journée mauve est de sensibiliser les gens au fait que chaque enfant et jeune ado a droit à la sécurité, ainsi qu’à l’importance de briser le silence et de nous exprimer si nous constatons que ce droit est brimé », a mentionné Hélène Fournier, directrice géné- rale de Valoris. Celle-ci invite la population à participer à la conversation sur Twitter, Facebook ou Instagram en utilisant le mot- clic #ProtégeonsLesEnfants. Des t-shirts mauves « Brisez le silence » sont disponibles au coût de 10 $ à la réception des centres de services Valoris jusqu’au 19 octobre 2016. Valoris pour enfants et adultes de Pres- cott-Russell profite de l’occasion pour souli- gner l’importance de l’implication commu- nautaire pour offrir aux enfants des services de qualité ayant comme objectif leur pro- tection et leur sécurité, tout en appuyant leurs familles. Il est important de rappeler que les Ontariennes et les Ontariens ont le devoir moral et l’obligation légale de signaler tout soupçon de mauvais traitement ou de négligence à l’égard d’un enfant.
