An ant farm is a special home for ants where you can watch them live and work. It helps us learn about how ants behave and how they build their colonies. Some people keep ant farms because they enjoy having ants as pets. Scientists who study ants are called myrmecologists . Ants really are impressive insects. They can adapt to live in almost any habitat in the world in complex, highly organized social colonies, or family groups. They are also impressive builders. They can build huge chambers, ventilation shafts, bridges, and tunnels. The tunnels they build connect the different chambers of the nest. Living underground provides them with protection from predators and the weather and allows them to expand their home.

25 million elephants -worth of plastic in the oceans There could already be 150 million tons of plastic litter in the world’s oceans. That’s the same weight as 25 million large elephants. If that many elephants stood in a line with their trunks outstretched, the line would be 124+ miles long . It would go round the world 5 times.
