INUKA InTouch SQ1 2019

NEVER GIVE UP, STAY FOCUSED

What was your biggest challenges you had to overcome to reach Diamond status?

I have a WhatsApp Group for my team. I use this platform to greet my team each morning, remind them of the new challenges and check on what their challenges are. I also use this platform to send out encouraging messages. I always announce my own challenges and incentives to motivate my team to do more with special prices. How did you grow your team to Diamond? I made sure that I help my team grow to their next new leadership statuses. I believe that you must have strong leaders who are able to maintain their statuses. Growing Members to a new status, is not a walk in the park. My journey to Diamond Status was not an overnight journey. It took time. However, this did not bother me. What was most important to me was to build a consistent team with strong leaders. The journey to Diamond Status requires at least maintaining Emerald and Beyond Leaders. Why did you decide to commit yourself to the INUKA Business Opportunity? I saw an INUKA post on Facebook in 2017 that was posted by my upline, Nodumo Maqethuka, on her timeline. She did not recruit me, I recruited myself into her team. Immediately when I saw the post, I commented on her status and told her that I was interested in the INUKA Business. At the time I did not even know what INUKA was about. She followed up on me and explained the business. I am a business minded person. When I joined INUKA, I also had other existing businesses. But I wanted something else that will keep me busy daily. Initially my only focus was to make profit from personal sales. When I read my Business Guide, I realized that there is more to benefit from than just profits from personal sales. When I witnessed for myself Members achieving Diamond Status, I immediately told myself that one day I am going to be a Diamond Leader. I started by committing myself to it and made time from my busy sched- ule for my team. How has INUKA changed your life? When I joined INUKA, I started Living My BEST Life. I can confidently say that I do not have financial problems. I can afford everything that I need. My focus is on giving my kids the best education ever. I am saving a big portion for their studies for the future. We have recently bought a house. I managed to put down a huge deposit on this house. I have an extremely busy lifestyle. I am a mother, a wife and a businesswoman, but I make sure that I live a balanced life.

I joined Inuka on 17 November 2017. A month later I got married, left my family and moved to the Eastern Cape to start a new life with my new family. This change had a huge impact on me and especially also on my INUKA Business. It was a challenge for me as the process of being a new bride (makoti), which lasted for 6 months, comes with many restrictions. I was not allowed to be seen talking to people on the streets, especially males. As a new bride I had to dress up in a traditional attire for 6 months. I was not allowed to have eye to eye contact with the community or people around me, etc. This was an obstacle in terms of making new customers and retaining my existing customers. I could not brand myself and that made it very difficult for me to attract more customers. I thank the power of social media. I used all avenues as my voice to promote my business. A month after I completed my new bride traditions, I was recognised as a Sapphire leader and the rest is history. What advice would you give to someone who is trying to reach Diamond Status? Our biggest weakness is in GIVING UP. When things are not going according to plan, sit down and look at your current strategies. If the current strategy is not working, change your strategy. Quitting is not an option if you are heading towards Diamond Status. Stay focused. Do not get distracted by other ways of making money. I personally believe that you cannot chase two birds at the same time as you might lose both. The progress of your own team should be your main priority and not the progress of your Upline. Consult your upline or the INUKA Helpdesk only when you need help. Some Members would focus on the progress of their upline and have the mentality that says you are where you are because of my team. This will take you nowhere.

Motivation is the key. Keep your team well-informed with any new developments, news and new products.

How do you support and motivate your team? The best way to support your team is by giving them as much information as you can. I conduct presentations almost each quarter for my team to stay well informed. I give each of my leaders the opportunity to gather their teams together and then I do a presentation for them. I personally think a small presentation of about 20-25 people becomes more effective, more controllable and intimate as you can give better attention to a few individuals opposed to a mass presentation.
