The ECSL Championship Swim Meet was held at Heritage High School’s competition pool, July 24. The pool that has hosted most of East County’s nest swimmers is a tough place to break records, but River Otters swim team star, Kayden Watts (Age 14, Discovery Bay), makes it look easy. Watts broke two long standing pool records at the ECSL meet. The rst was the result of Watt’s 50-yard Buttery. The previously held pool record for this event , 29.36, was established in 2013 by Rebecca Brantome. Watts now holds the pool record with a 28.98 The second, a 50-yard backstroke record of 31.99, was set by Laura Woods.Woolsheld by Laura Woods was broken by Watts with an outstanding 31.69. Watts is no stranger to breaking records. In 2013, at age 6, Watts broke the pool record with her 25-yard backstroke.
