FTA Sets Fall Conference 2017 Theme, Venue, Chair Flexographic Technical Association (FTA) an- nounced “The Gateway to Technology” as the official theme of Fall Conference 2017. The event will take place from October 9-11 in St. Louis, Missouri. Spanning over three days, with two full days of ses- sions and networking, the event is comprised of tech- nical sessions being orchestrated by program chair Rory Marsoun, Esko VP Business Development – Flexo, Americas. The agenda will incorporate a live hybrid print job utilizing the 2017 FTA Technical In- novation Award winning digital series hybrid press, automated imaging and exposure unit and UV LED curing low migration technology. Mark Andy Inc., Esko and Flint Group, the award winners, will also divulge complete design and devel- opment details on their Technical Innovation Award winning contributions to the future of the flexo in- dustry. Attendees will also have the opportunity to visit a galleria of almost 70 exhibitors. “As we put together the sessions for FTA’s Fall Con- ference 2017, our goal is to deliver strong technical content focused around new innovative technolo- gies,” Marsoun said. “We will be highlighting how, even with new flexo technologies and even when in-
corporating digital printing, the fundamentals are still valid.We want attendees to leave with real technical knowledge they can take back and use right away, while also preparing for future technology.” FTA’s Fall Conference 2017 will take place at the Hyatt Regency St. Louis at The Arch, next to the newly transformed Arch grounds and scenic riverfront. V&V Interflexo, Agraf Receive Andigraf Awards Agraf Industrial (Colombia) recently won an award from Andigraf for its print quality using nyloflex FTF Digital flexographic plates from Flint Group, winner of the 2016 Flexographic Technical Innovation Award. Agraf has worked for years with the tradeshop V&V Interflexo, who introduced the technology to Agraf to allow the company to progress from using high definition with standard digital plates (without flat top dots), to high definition with flat top dots ex- posed with Flint Group’s nyloflex NExT Exposure (for creating flat top dots), to adding high definition with advanced surface screening, to finally using Flint Group’s nyloflex FTF Digital Plates, which are flat top plates with a texturized surface out of the box.
