Symposia Advancing Comprehensive Early Childhood Intervention S7.02 Current Challenges in Early Childhood Intervention: Quality of Life, Equality, and Universal Accessibility Symposium Organizer: Pau Garcia Grau (Spain) Affiliation : Catholic University of Valencia

This symposium examines the challenges and opportunities in Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) in Spain, emphasizing family quality of life, equity, and universal accessibility. Drawing on findings from a national research project, the presentations highlight the interplay between recommended professional practices, family outcomes, and systemic gaps. The first study identifies key dimensions of family confidence and their impact on family quality of life, underscoring the role of confidence-building strategies in fostering child development, and strengthening family relationships. The second study uses the Family Outcomes Scale to explore perceived outcomes of ECI services, revealing discrepancies between intended results and practical impacts, and offering actionable insights to align services with family needs. The third presentation shifts focus to ECI professionals, analyzing their perceptions of recommended practices, and challenges in organizational adaptability. Findings reveal barriers to implementing evidence-based approaches and emphasize the role of professional self-efficacy in addressing diverse family needs. Finally, a systemic analysis highlights structural fragmentation and regional disparities in ECI services across Spain. Using a validated assessment framework, this study identifies critical gaps in territorial equity and standardization, advocating for integrative policies, professional training, and digital transformation. Together, these contributions provide a holistic view of the current landscape of ECI, offering strategies to enhance inclusivity, equality, and evidence-based practices while prioritizing family-centered approaches and systemic cohesion. This work sets a foundation for advancing ECI toward a more effective and sustainable model.
