Great news! Your students may be eligible for FREE books through the READ program. Created by the Louisiana State Legislature, the Louisiana Department of Education, and Scholastic, this initiative is for students:

• In grades preK4 through 5th • Who are not yet reading on grade level

Families can register their eligible child using your school’s 6-digit testing site code. Books and resources are available in English and Spanish and will be delivered directly to families’ homes.

Tell families with eligible children about the program in 3 easy steps.

1. Fill in the unique code on this flyer with your school’s 6-digit testing site code.

2. Share the flyers with eligible students and their families using this email .

3. Post the following information on your school website or in emails to alert families of this program:

“Your child may qualify to receive FREE books through the state-sponsored READ program! Books and literacy resources will be delivered directly to your home. Request a code from your child’s teacher and go to readla.scholastic.com to register.” Check out the READ toolkit which contains emails, flyers, social posts, and more to help you promote the program in your school.
