Animal Rising . t iii

•••

As a country of people who claim to love animals - especially dogs - why is the UK one of ONLY SEVEN remaining countries that STILL allow commercial dog racing? Today, this alleged 'sport' got a little smaller as Henlow Stadium in Bedfordshire closed its doors for the last time, after nearly 100 years of racing. The lease on the stadium was not renewed by the landowner and the site will now be sold off for the building of new homes. Last year Animal Rising demonstrated outside almost half of the remaining licensed greyhound tracks in the UK to shine a light on where our relationship with animals and nature is broken. Henlow was one of these tracks, where a 2-year old female greyhound, Clona Honey, broke her back mid-race in 2018.
