Earth’s Silent Cry
Earth, our beautiful home, A gem in the vast, dark cosmos, A place of wonder, a place of life, Yet, on this day, we must face the strife. For though the birds still sing their songs, And the trees still reach toward the sky, Our world is in grave danger, And we must heed the warning cry. The oceans rise and the forests fall, As we continue on our destructive path, Our planet groans under the weight of our deeds, And we face the consequences of our wrath.
But there is hope, a flicker of light, In the hearts of those who care, Who strive to heal our wounded world, And make a difference, however small. So on this Earth Day, let us pledge, To do what we can to make amends, To cherish this fragile planet of ours, And protect it until the very end.
For the future of our children and theirs, Rests in the choices we make today. As long as the sun rises, as long as moon shines, We must protect and honor this Earth in every way.
