ABOUT THE DOCTOR Dr. Charles Buzzanell Fondly known as Dr. Buzz to his patients, he has dedicated his career to helping to relieve the debilitating symptoms of chronic pain and addiction. Dr. Buzz recognizes that each patient is different and therefore approaches each treatment with a multidisciplinary approach.

After graduating from the Georgetown University School of Medicine in 1984, Dr. Buzzanell completed his anesthesiology residency training at the National Naval Medical Center with fellowship training in pain management at the Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. He holds board certifications in Pain Management and Anesthesiology through the American Board of Anesthesiology. Before he became Dr. Buzz, he was Director of the Pain Control Clinic at the National Naval Medical Center and served in Desert Storm. He left the Navy after 12 years of honorable service in 1992. Following that, he became an assistant professor and Director of the Georgetown University Pain Management Fellowship Program. He also served as assistant professor with the New York Medical College at St. Vincent’s Hospital in New York City. Dr. Buzzanell came to Asheville in the late nineties and founded Blue Ridge Pain Management in 2004. He is a trusted physician with a passion for patient rehabilitation.
