With the Lord After about a week’s illness in a local hospital, Charles E. Hurlburt, beloved by many in the Institute family, passed into the presence of the Lord on January 28. Coming to the Institute after years of work in Africa, he was associated with T. C. Horton in the administrative de­ partment of the Institute. He also served at intervals as an instructor on the Insti­ tute faculty. At the time o f his passing, Dr. Hurlburt held the position of Advisory Director of the Unevangelized Africa Mission. Evangelistic Notices Following his work in the First Baptist Church, San Diego, Calif., Harold Alex­ ander assisted in evangelistic meetings held in the First Christian Church, Ocean Park, Calif., early in 1936. From February 12 to 23, he and Mrs. Alexander were to be associated with John Bunyan Smith in a meeting in the First Baptist Church, Sel­ ma, Calif. Other future engagements for the Alexanders are as follows: March 1 to 15, First Baptist Church, Downey, Calif.; March 22 to April 3, Cochran Avenue Bap­ tist Church, Los Angeles, Calif.; April 5 to 12, First Baptist Church, Riverside, Calif. During the past year, the Henry E. Burke Evangelistic Party reports holding meetings in Pocatello, Idaho; Eugene, Ore.; Grants Pass, Ore.; Lakeview, Ore.; Iowa Falls, Iowa; and a number of other places. The group is returning to Eugene, Ore., for the month o f March. They fea­ ture a combined program o f mass and visi­ tation evangelism. There are three in the party. Mrs. Burke was formerly Edna Vickstrom. R. A. Case serves as director of music. Mr. Burke may be addressed at 9028 South Ada Street, Chicago, 111. Leonard Eilers held a series of meetings in the Baptist Church, Lafayette, Colo., in January, which resulted in fifty-six de­ cisions for Christ. From Lafayette, Mr. Eilers went to Rawlins, Wyo. His schedule of appointments is as follows: Feb. 16 to March 1, Thermopolis, W yo.; March 8 to 22, Gillette, Wyo.^March 29 to April 12, Grace Baptist Church, Modesto, Calif.; April 19 to May 3, Havenscourt Colonial Church, Oakland, Calif.; May 10 to 24, M. E. Church South, Kingsburg, Calif. A pastor in Powell, Wyo., recently wrote to the K in g ’ s B u s in e s s : “We are happy to know that Brother Eilers is going to be in Thermopolis in February. Many of us are going to" drive the 136 miles to hear him again.” Mr. Eilers’ permanent address is 124 North Florence, Burbank, Calif. The V om Bruch-Davis Evangelistic Party recently closed a three-weeks’ meet­ ing in the Clarke Tabernacle, Waterloo, Iowa. Future appointments include the following cities: Oshawa, Canada; South Bend, Ind.; New Castle, P a.; Oneonta, N. Y .; Plainfield, N. J.; Fellows, Calif.; and Los Angeles, Calif.

The annual reunion of the “Ore-Biola Association” was held in the fall at the Salem Auto Park, Salem, Ore. Fol­ lowing the singing o f the school song, “ Biola,” the group were led in prayer by Mrs. Fred J. Tooze, Jr. (Ruth E. Tibbits, ’25), who also called the meeting to order. Two special numbers were brought by Margaret Thome, ’34. They were the song of the class o f ’34, “ Constrained by His Love,” and “Jesus Is Dearer Than All.” Inspiring devotional messages were brought by Kenneth B. Daniels, ’28, of Carlton, Ore., and by Ivan Brown, the latter a guest, a student at the Western Baptist Seminary in Portland, Ore. The following officers were elected: Eunice R. Hart, ’26, President; Kenneth B. Daniels, ’28, Vice-President; and Margaret Lois Thome, ’34, Secretary-Treasurer. George ( ’22) and Mrs. Hall (Edith Elyea, ’22) have just returned to Australia from England to engage in Bible class teaching and open-air evangelism.
