SPOTLIGHT ON INNOVATION THE ARC ONTARIO UNVEILS EMPLOYMENT & TRAINING CENTER

CRITICAL TIME TRANSITION PROGRAM FOR CHILDREN, YOUTH AND FAMILIES Mountain Lake Services (Essex) was recently awarded the Critical Time Intervention Program (CTTP) grant from the NYS Office of Mental Health, totaling $1.7 million over five years for Critical Time Intervention (CTI) and $12.7 million for a Transitional Residential Setting (TRS). The program aims to provide crisis intervention and management for youth with mental health challenges. The CTTP focuses on helping young people, age 11-17, transition from hospital settings back to their communities with support from a dedicated team. This team, which can assist up to 16 youths, includes case managers and specialists who provide personalized care, building resilience and helping families develop necessary skills. They maintain regular contact and coordinate efforts with hospitals and community services. Key components include intensive care management by a dedicated team, offering ongoing support and coordination of services. Additionally, the TRS will accommodate up to eight youths for short-term stays, providing stabilization and access to therapeutic resources in a home-like environment. Overall, the CTTP team collaborates with local hospitals and community providers to ensure a smooth transition for youths, aiming to reduce long hospital stays and promote successful reintegration into their communities.

With offerings suitable for everyone—from those just beginning to explore career paths to individuals seeking to enhance their marketability—The Arc Ontario's team is eager to discuss career options and assist individuals in reaching their personal career goals. Participants can delve into specific areas of interest while preparing for the next steps to turn their aspirations into reality. Utilizing innovative tools such as Virtual Reality and hands-on curriculum, the center equips individuals with the necessary skills for successful employment in fields like healthcare and hospitality, with additional opportunities on the horizon.
