A Message from CEO Erik Geizer (Continued)
ARC’s Guns & Hoses Event
Her tenure saw the creation of numerous innovative programs, including integrated businesses, college and employment opportunities, and the recent opening of the new Employment and Training Center. Ann also made significant contributions at the statewide level with The Arc New York, serving on various committees, including the Joint Committee on Quality and Compliance and the CEO Search Committee. And she was instrumental in developing the "Guide to Excellence," our Board member training resource manual. Congratulations on your well-deserved retirement, Ann! Your legacy of leadership and vision will continue to inspire us all.
I had a great time attending the Advocacy and Resource Center’s (Clinton) Guns and Hoses event at the end of August The event honored first responders for everything they do, and simultaneously gave people the opportunity to meet and get comfortable with men and women in uniform in a safe environment. This is yet another example of why we are stronger together.
Retirement Celebration
The Arc New York Golf Tournament
In September, The Arc New York’s CFO, Cyndi Borozny, and I attended a special retirement event honoring The Arc Ontario's Executive Director, Ann Scheetz. I had the opportunity to share heartfelt words about Ann’s incredible impact over the past 40 years and the dedicated journey that led her to this moment. Ann began her career as a case manager with The Arc Ontario in 1984 and ascended to the role of Executive Director in 2012. Under her leadership, she transformed the Chapter with significant increases in assets and revenue, expanded the Chapter’s Foundation resources, and secured vital grants to support operations.
At the end of summer, we held our annual golf tournament at Arc Herkimer's MV Golf and Event Center. It was wonderful to see Chapters from across the state unite on the green for a day of camaraderie and friendly competition.
