The hotel is located between the Bahá’í gardens and the German colony, founded by the Templars in 1868. When World War II began, the Templar residents were transferred to concentration camps, and later deported from the country, leaving their homes behind. Today, the preserved ancient stone houses are used as cafes, restaurants, galleries and souvenir shops. Thanks to the picturesque feeling of a European town in the heart of downtown Haifa, they attract many revelers from the city and beyond. Sderot Ben Gurion, the German colony’s central axis, crosses it lengthwise and at its end stands the lower entrance to the Bahá’í Gardens. The hotel is placed exactly at this unusual meeting point. The designer Nestor Sandbank, who specializes in designing luxury hotels for companies such as Brown, Lighthouse Hotels and other projects in Israel and abroad, was chosen to design the unique hotel. Sandbank explains: “The hotel was given a classic yet timeless design inspired by the botanical gardens and the German colony - a fusion of eras and cultures that stand out and characterize the area. Unique and meticulous motifs are incorporated in the hotel from the foundation to the roof beams, with an emphasis on details. These were adapted and designed specifically for the hotel to maintain its uniqueness. All the floors are characterized by a different color and tone, according to the appearance of the gardens that alternates among the different terraces.״ At the Hotel Botanica, guests enjoy a luxurious lobby- bar, where they can relax throughout their day, a cafe, a well-kept spa, a sophisticated gym, a pool with a beautiful view of the Baha’i gardens, a restaurant with a rich culinary menu and a bar, a patio designed as a greenhouse, shops, Rooftop, conference halls and conference rooms.
According to Teddy Merhavi, CEO of the North Region, this is the flagship hotel of the Fattal Hotels Chain luxury hotels thanks to its luxurious design, its unique location and the hospitality conditions that have been specially adapted to this atmosphere. Therefore, this hotel is intended for an audult clientele only (16 years and up), including couples, business people and incoming tourists from the luxury market segment. The Hotel Botanica, designed by Oren Architects under the leadership of architect Guy Arbel, boasts a wide variety of spacious, well-designed rooms, most of which have a view of the nearby gardens. Additional rooms face a unique patio or the Mediterranean Sea. In the hotel, you will find 163 rooms with a luxurious boutique design, spacious pampering suites and a variety of rooms of different sizes and designs, from luxury suites and garden suites located next to the patio, through spacious studio rooms suitable for three, to panorama rooms with balconies affording three different views (the gardens, the German colony and the sea). The attraction is the ״Templars,״ sloping attic rooms with high ceilings, as is customary in the Templar houses scattered in the colony.
