The leisure lanes will be shared with swim lessons during lesson times. Amenities include:  Universal & gendered change areas with private and shared showers, and free lockers.  Leisure pool with 25 m lanes, lazy river, spray features, tot zone and gradual entry. Adjacent family hot tub, adult hot tub, steam room and sauna.  Lap pool with 25 m lanes, 50 m lanes, 1 & 3 m diving boards, 5 m diving platform, and adjustable height floor.  Lifts and water wheelchairs are available, call for information. Pool Etiquette  Everyone must shower with soap before entering the water. Showers are available on-deck and in all change areas. Soap is provided. Learn more at newwestcity.ca/keep-it-fresh  No food is permitted in the pool or change area.  No outside shoes are permitted on the pool deck.  Strollers are permitted in universal change area or in the viewing area, accessible from the lobby.  Children 6 years and under must be accompanied in the water by a capable swimmer 15+ years. Maximum 2 children per caregiver. Out-of-water supervision of participants is permitted at no cost for children 7+ years.  3-metre diving board and 5-metre diving platform users must be 7+ years. 1-metre diving board users 6 years and under must have a caregiver in the water.  Lanes are for length swimming and water running only. Share lanes with other participants swimming at a similar pace, and swim on the right side of lane.  Adult hot tub, steam room, and sauna users must be 15+ years. Water bottles must remain outside.  Any activity that could reasonably be perceived as competing with or replicating City-run lessons or programs are not allowed.

ADVANCED AQUATICS Bronze Medallion & Bronze Cross Combo (13+ years) Merge the comprehensive training of both Bronze Medallion and Bronze Cross into a single, intensive course. Participants will develop advanced lifesaving skills, including effective victim recognition, two-rescuer rescues, spinal injury management, and active surveillance techniques in aquatic facilities. The course emphasizes teamwork, communication, and decision- making in high-pressure situations, preparing candidates for the responsibilities of assistant lifeguards. Includes classroom and water activities, requiring 100% attendance and participation. Participants must be 13 years of age or older and swim at a Breaking Waves Swim Level 11 ability, or Swim for Life Star Patrol Level 9. National Lifeguard - Pool Option (15+ years) Learn lifeguarding skills, principles, practices, and the decision- making processes that help lifeguards provide effective safety supervision in swimming pool environments. This is a 44-hour course that requires study and assignment completion outside of class time. 100% attendance is mandatory. This course is worth two grade 12 high school credits. Participants must be 15 years of age or older, hold a Bronze Cross and Standard First Aid Certificate. An adult must accompany all children during the session. Hockey sticks and figure skating are not permitted at this session. Adult Skate (18+ years) Add skating to your fitness schedule. Enjoy lap skating with friends. Hockey sticks and figure skating are not permitted during this session. Adult Hockey (18+ years) Keep your skills sharp and the body tuned! Staff do not supervise this session and players will organize and play their own games. Each session is limited to 20 players and two goalies. Full gear is recommended. No goalies, scrimmages, slap shots, or formal instruction. This session is designed to be slower paced. Registration is required. Light Up the Night Family Skate Enjoy a bright evening of family fun! The arena will be lit up for an evening of skating, games, crafts, and fun! Concession will be open. An adult must accompany all children during this event. Sports Badminton A racquet sport for all skill levels. Bring a racquet and birdies. Carpet Bowling Bowl indoors on carpet, similar to lawn bowling. All levels welcome. Century House membership required. Pickleball A hybrid of badminton, tennis and table tennis played with paddles and a perforated ball. Low-impact aerobic exercise. Please bring a paddle and balls. Table Tennis Also known as ping-pong, this is a two or four-player sport with paddles and a light weight ball. Bring a paddle.
