Education Day 2025 Leadership Midland’s Education Day explored the challenges, innovations and partnerships shaping our community’s educational landscape. The day began at Lone Star Trails Elementary, followed by hands-on tours at Midland College’s SimLife Center and the Advanced Technology Center. Leaders engaged with Dr. Damon Kennedy, President of Midland College and heard from community partners driving education forward, including the Permian Strategic Partnership, Scharbauer Foundation, Inc., Warren Charitable Foundation and Literacy Coalition of the Permian Basin. The afternoon wrapped up with a panel featuring educators from Midland ISD, Greenwood Independent School District, Midland Christian School, Bynum School, Hillcrest School and GECO Grace Enrichment Co-op, offering insight into how each is helping prepare tomorrow’s leaders. Thank you to our Planning Committee, our hosts, and every educator committed to empowering the next generation of West Texans.

As part of the Bridging Argentina & Texas mission to Midland, Texas, the Argentina Texas Chamber of Commerce (ATCC) will host an exclusive seminar designed to foster dialogue, showcase best practices, and highlight opportunities for collaboration between the Argentine and U.S. energy sectors. This high-level event will take place at the Petroleum Club of Midland on October 20, 2025, coinciding with the Permian Basin International Oil Show (PBIOS 2025).

Evan Thomas, Midland Chamber president and CEO, moderated the “Doing Business in the Permian” panel, which closed out the two-day Permian Power Connection Conference. The panel featured: Kristen Gamboa, Executive Director, Carlsbad Department of Development Mike Gallagher, CEO–County Manager, Eddy County, NM Tom Manskey, Director of Economic Development, Odessa Development Corp. Panelists shared their organizations’ strategies for addressing the Permian Basin’s most pressing community challenges. Their discussion touched on building strong workforce pipelines, expanding access to medical services and childcare, and meeting critical infrastructure needs— all essential to sustaining long-term growth in the region.
