AT THE ELEVENTH HOUR The clock of time once more re sounds; Hark! It is now eleven! The time to work is almost gone, The time for service given. Earth's harvest on its wide-stretched fields Has long been ripe for reaping. The night of time approaches fast And multitudes are sleeping. The hosts of Satan, long at work, Continue on unceasing, And hold their strategy pursue Each chance and moment seizing. More desperate they now become To damn each tribe and" nation, More zealous to haste man and earth To tragic consummation. The ripehed harvest whitened stands, Still waiting for the reaper, And heavy heads of priceless grain Toward earth are bowing deeper. So much of daytime has been spent, Earth's final chance is nearing So near the eventide has come. And Christ's own re-appearing. Once more the Lord of harvest calls— For you He has been waiting. Where have you been this harvest day? God's will and call debating? It is for you the harvest waits, Without you souls are dying! Through you the Spirit waits to work! Why are you not replying? Your witness to some sinner now Is his last hope of Heaven! God's only means to reach some souls— Your money still ungiven! Your fasting, prayer, and earnest tears For souls in every nation Can mean the choice 'twixt life or death, Salvation or damnation. At this the Saviour's final call Still idle you are standing? What will it take to waken you To His solemn demanding? If you fail Christ and man today The blood of souls will stain you, And at the judgment bar of God What shame at least will pain you! — Wesley Duewell

in Revelation 20. From this point of no return they will, be cast into the lake of fire. The righteous dead may have their bodies placed in the grave, but their spirits go immediately to be with Christ. “To depart and be with Christ. is far better.” They await an other event which will be the resurrec tion of the body (I Corinthians 15:51- 58), which is, of course, at a future time. Q . Vallejo, California -— “In Matthew 7:6 we read, ‘Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast y e your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.’ I’ve always been con fused by this since it seems that the Lord doesn’t want us to witness to cer tain people.” A. Yet it is not for us to determine who will believe and who will not. God has called us to be witnesses not judg es. We do not know which individ uals will have nothing to do with the precious truth of the Gospel and are ready to trample it under foot. Along with this portion of Scripture, how ever, remember our Lord’s imperative words, “Ye shall be witnesses unto me” ¡(Acts 1:8 ).
