M eet M aria S anjurjo Helping Cl ients Greet a Better Future
When Maria Sanjurjo’s friend told her that her place of work, The Manely Firm, was searching for someone to fill a sales position, she decided to take the opportunity. Having worked in sales before, Maria knew this position was perfect for what she was looking for at the time. But it was not the only thing that drew her to our firm. For most of her life, the law field had always intrigued Maria, but she had never had the opportunity to pursue that interest. The ideals of upholding the law, defending those who are vulnerable, and ensuring people are held accountable for their actions are what appealed most to her. This was a perfect opportunity for her. Working at The Manely Law firm, she says, “is a good way to delve into the world and see what it’s like to be a lawyer.” And, since 2019, that’s exactly what she’s experienced and much more. “I never thought that, if I ended up in law, I would find family law,” Maria admits. “I think there’s a very negative image of what family law entails, but there’s
nothing like that at The Manely Firm. Everyone here, from the attorneys to my fellow client care coordinators truly want to make sure these families can get through this tough time and that they have what they need to start whatever new phase of their life is afterward.” Maria continues, “These people are trying to take care of their children and reestablish connections with their families. The Manely Firm does everything in its power to help them toward those goals. It’s something I see every day and have found so much satisfaction from knowing that our clients are in the best of hands and that I have some part in helping them.” In the moments when she’s not busy helping our clients, Maria enjoys spending time traveling with her husband and daughter. Though this pastime was put on hold due to the pandemic, she’s hopeful that things may open up a little this year so she and her family can get out once again. “My husband and I are adamant,” she says. “Once this pandemic is lifted, we’re going traveling.”
