Consequent to many sessions of mee�ngs and discussions, the indicators under the smart city standard are classified into three categories; indicators with total adop�on, indicators that require modifica�on and indicators that are not applicable/ can be considered in the future. The indicators are also classified according to their readiness for use in Malaysia. Table 2.0 shows the classifica�on for the smart city indicators.

Future Directions for Smart City Indicators
this Technical Commi�ee TC/D/29 is in line with the roles and func�ons of ISO/TC 268 Sustainable Ci�es and Communi�es at the interna�onal level. Following through, PLANMalaysia has proposed to set up a working group and was approved by the Technical Commi�ee TC/D/29 registered as WG/D/29-1 to study the smart city indicators.
The Standard for Smart City Indicators is s�ll under development and is expected to be finalised by the end of 2021 through Technical Commi�ee TC/D/29 under Standards Malaysia. PLANMalaysia is appointed as the chairman of The Technical Commi�ee Mee�ng TC/D/29 - Sustainable Ci�es and Communi�es which the first mee�ng was held on 8 October 2020 under the secretariat of Standard Malaysia.
