Making a Di erence Smart ci�es are no longer a dream or science fic�on, they’re our reality and the focus should be on developing more smart ci�es around the globe. Today 54% of people worldwide live in ci�es and this is expected to grow to 70% by 2050. This growing urban popula�on will increase demand on our already overburdened, pollu�on filled ci�es, pu�ng pressure on transport, health, sani�sa�on, water and waste management which can create the spread of diseases and infec�ons - making some ci�es rather unpleasant, unsafe places to live. Ci�es need to make changes to cope.
