Sustainable manganese(I)-catalyzed C–H dienylation of indoles and a method for cascade [4+2]-cycloaddition Jinhwan Park, Jonwoo Son, Yeongmi Park, Minseok Kim Donga-A University, South Korea Substituted 1,3-butadienes, found in a variety of natural products and bioactive molecules, are synthetically important structural motifs due to their use of well-known [4+2]-cycloaddition process, introducing new alicyclic and hetero-alicyclic scaffolds. 1 Here, we disclose the development of a directed C–H dienylation of indoles using allenyl esters as well as their cascade Diels-Alder cycloaddition in manganese(I) catalysis. This dienylation- cycloaddition protocol provides a convenient accessibility to a broad scope of indoles and dienophiles with excellent regioselectivity in a sustanable manner. References 1. K. C.
