Synthesis of some biologically significant small heterocycles via silver(I)-catalyzed activation of carbon-carbon and carbon- heteroatom bond Swastik Karmakar West Bengal State University, India Since late twentieth century, metal-catalyzed activations of ene-yne units have gained considerable attention for the construction of biologically relevant small molecules due to their efficacy and simplicity during implementations. 1-3 Among various novel protocols, Heck 4 , Sonogashira 5 , Suzuki-Miyaura 6 , Pauson-Khand 7 , Ene-yne metathesis reactions 3 , and transition metal catalyzed cycloaddition/ cycloisomerization of ene-yne units 2 contribute significantly to afford numerous bio-active heterocylic and carbocylic scaffolds. Herein, our interesting approaches based on silver(I)-catalyzed activation of carbon-carbon and carbon-hetero bond toward some biologically privileged moieties like substituted indoles, 8,9 and furoquinolines 10 would be presented.
