Thus the Word does not return void.
fJ^HE past month has not been excep tional, but a very keen interest has been shown in the study of “What the Bible teaches concerning prayer.” Some of the Christian men have been feeling the pressure of the times and that they were not able to “do their bit.” But now they are seeing the opportunity and the respon sibility of the Christian, at this time, to pray as never before. Though they are surrounded by tliose high grey walls, there can be no obstruction overhead (unless it be that of Isaiah 59:2: “But your iniqui ties have separated between you and your N OW unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to His power that worketh in us.” How we do praise Him that He is able. Thus it is with thanksgiving that we can report that the blessing of the Lord sti}l continues to rest upon the Spanish work. It was the worker’s privilege recently to spend a few days at Camp Kearny where we were permitted to minister to hundreds, of Spanish-speaking men among the sol diers. Many,, while born in the United States, had never heard the simple Gospel before. Quite a goodly number confessed that it was the truth and said they were

interested and wanted to know more about the way of salvation. We reached these men in large public ser vices, in group talks and Bible classes, as well as in personal interviews, resulting in nine professed conversions and twenty who requested prayer in- their behalf. We do covet your prayers for these men and for the precious seed of God’s Word, that it may germinate and bring forth fruit Our weekly visits to the County Hospital are still productive of good results. Through the personal work of our Mexi can convert there, another young man was brought to us to be shown /'the way more perfectly, after which he definitely accepted
