No act of devotion to Christ is ever for gotten, and as to a woman He first revealed Himself as the Messiah, so now after His resurrection it is to a woman that He first manifests Himself in resurrection power. . The life of our Lord was a triumphant life. In the wilderness He triumphed over Satan. In the three great temptations, He defied every effort of the adversary to sub ject Him to His will. He triumphed over disease, curing all who were laid at- His feet. He triumphed over the elements, bidding the waves and the winds to crouch at His feet. What a contrast between the darkness of Calvary and the radiant light of the Heav enly witnesses in the open tomb! There is marked contrast between the disciples who had been so long time with Him and the women in the matter of devotion to the Lord. Love does not reason, but it breaks all barriers down.
