do you think those soldiers did, who were watching the tomb so that none of Jesus’ " friends might come near the body? Yes, they were so frightened when they felt the earth trembling and saw the angel, they ran away. As the three women entered the garden they felt so sad, for they wfere saying to each other that they would never see their dear Jesus any more. As they came nearer they saw something white and shining in front of the tomb and the stone rolled away. They hurried forward, and when they saw the angel and the empty tomb, they were frightened too, and then this beautiful angel spoke to the women and told them not to be afraid, because Jesus had risen from the dead,' even as He said. O how happy those three women must have been. They hurried back and told the disciples that Jesus was alive, but the disciples did not believe it could be true. After a while all the disciples saw Jesus and knew that He was really risen from the dead—that He was alive. Then Jesus talked with them and told them how He needed to suffer and die for the people, and rise again, so that all the people in the world could be told how He died for them, and when they were sorry for their sins and believed on Him, He would forgive their sins and they would be saved so they would rise from the dead and live again. That is why this is the sweetest and most wonderful story in the Bible, because when we love Jesus, death is just going to sleep down here when we are' tired, and waking up in heaven with Jesus where we will never be tired or sick any more. Then Jesus told the disciples to go and tell everybody this won derful story so they could be saved, too, and all we that love Jesus are His dis ciples, so that means for us to tell this story. Closing Prayer .—Thanking Jesus for this beautiful lesson showing us that He has power over death so we will not be afraid and asking Him to help us to be true dis ciples and tell the story of Jesus and His love.

We are going to have another picture this morning from our sand table, and as I uncover it you will remember when we finished our story last Sunday, Jesus’ body was laid in the tomb with a big stone rolled in front of the door and some soldiers standing guard, and if you will look closely at the picture now, you will see that something has changed since then, and our Memory Verse tells us what made the change. “He is risen, even as He said.” Prayer .—Let us bow our heads and thank God for raising Jesus out of the tomb and making Him alive again. Lesson 'Story .—In our story last week we saw the friends of Jesus yery, very sad and lonely after they had watched Him die on the cross and saw His body laid away in the tomb. They went back to their homes and thought of the many loving deeds Jesus had done for them all, and now He was dead and could not help them any more. Some of them remembered how He had made their sick people yrell, and even brought dead people back to life, and now they had forgotten how he had told them of His death and that He would rise again from the dead, and so they fixed some nice sweet spices and perfumes to put on the body of Jesus, and on the first day of the week, which is our Sunday, very early in the morning, three of the women started for the garden where Jesus was buried. As they were walking along they were thinking of that big stone and wondering how they-were going to roll it away so they could put the sweet spices and perfume on the body of Jesus. Very early that morning while it was yet dark, there had been an earthquake which made the ground tremble, and an angel from heaven came down and rolled the big stone away from the tomb as we see here in our picture. The angel’s face was very bright and his clothes white and -shining. What
