Additionally, the Regulations introduce a reduction in working hours during Ramadan for Muslim employees, with their hours cut by 25% of the normal working hours. Sick Leave During Probation Employees are entitled to sick leave during their probationary period; however, they will not be eligible for statutory sick pay during this time. This
adjustment ensures that employees’ health needs are acknowledged, even if they are in their probation period. HR and payroll managers will need to track any sick leave taken by employees during the probation period and notify the employee of any salary deductions applied to the monthly payroll.
