The Church Can Affect World Order by Acknowledging the Savability

(Dan. 2:40-45; Matt. 24-25; Rev. 4-20). Then the task of the church in the world is to preserve order as much as possible, and to delay the final collapse of world government in order that every one of God’s elect shall ultimately be saved (John 6:37; 2 Pet. 3 :9). The “ all” in the last mentioned Scripture refers to God’s elect as is clear from the context. In other words, the world must maintain some semblance of order until God’s purpose for the church is consummated; then will come the tragic events of the great tribulation (1 Thess. 2 : 1 - 12 ). The Church Can Affect World Order by Acknowledging the Unity of the This important passage, part of Paul’s matchless address before the Athenians on Mars’ Hill, teaches several basic Christian truths. In the first place, the Apostle shows that God is the Creator of the World. This makes man the creature of God and of common origin. Once let a man acknowledge his allegiance to the Creator and he has made a strong step toward the destruc tion of the fallacy of racial or national supremacy, which precipitated World War II. Paul taught that man is of common stock (v. 26). The color of the skin may differ but the blood is that of man. The Christian can influence the world by showing that in his thinking, as in the thinking of the Lord Himself, there is no difference. God makes no distinction in the church between Jew and Gentile, bond and free, male and female—all are one in Christ Jesus (Gal. 3:26-29). The Church Can Affect World Order by Acknowledging the Sovereignty of God Acts 17:24 Paul was very careful to show the sovereignty of God over the entire world. He was speaking to a group of people who held various views of deity, from infidelity and atheism to polythe ism. Things have not changed much since that time. There are still multi tudes in the world who have no settled convictions about the fact of God. Today we are living in a godless age, godless in the respect that men refuse to ac knowledge Him in their thoughts and in their lives (Rom. 1:28). Conviction alone can influence the world. The peoples of earth stand in need of confronting a group of men and women, Christians, who really believe something! Let the Church stop quib bling about this and that. The doctrines of the Christian faith are as sure as the Word is sure, as sure as God is sure! Once let a man honestly and sincerely admit the fact of God and the rest will fall in line. The fact of God demands surrender to Him, loyalty to Him, ac ceptance of His Word, the reception of His" Son, and obedience to His will. If you honestly believe in God, then you must live as if you believe in Him! Human Race Acts 17:24-26

the church began; it is still true today. Men may seek the Lord (vv. 27,28) because the Lord is seeking men. God is not hard to find. He is nearer than hands and feet; He is nearer than breathing (v. 28). The invitation of Christ still rings out, “ Come unto me all ye that labour and are heavy laden” (Matt. 11:28). Wherever the gospel goes, there are heavy hearts ready to receive it. Men may be saved because the way of salvation has been ■accomplished.

of the World Acts 17:27-29

I think I have coined a new word in savability. By this term I mean that unless the Christian believes that the gospel is the power of God unto salva tion nothing will be done for the world. We must have confidence that God can save any man who will believe, and that when the gospel is preached some will believe. This has been true ever since
