INSPIRING STORY

I found that the physical effort it took to ride my bike was a minor distraction from my anxiety, but I still was only experiencing minimal improvements. I then contacted an iridologist who has also been a huge help to me. By 2022, my improvements were very gradual, and my friend took a job on the Sunshine Coast. As I was still unable to care for myself, I was excited to leave Adelaide and move to the Sunshine Coast with him. I was almost medication free except for Lexapro and Thyroxine. My goal was to be healthy and well and completely medication free, but I was still in a lot of mental pain. After spending time on the Sunshine Coast, I decided to look for volunteer opportunities, as I determined that being alone for extended periods was not advantageous for me. I found a beautiful horse sanctuary that has rescue horses and does equine therapy, so they understood mental health.

This sanctuary has brought me so much healing, purpose, connection and love. Over the following years I continued to seek out alternative and healing through holistic practitioners, meditation, and retrained my brain and nervous system. I was compelled to keep finding ways to manage what I was going through, and am still going through this to this day. My progress continued, and I no longer experienced persistent panic attacks. However, I still encountered recurring anxiety and obsessive thoughts, as well as symptoms such as hot flushes, overwhelm, fatigue, brain fog, and headaches. Overall, these challenges remain manageable.
