1.4 Submittals A. Submit under provisions of Section 01 30 00 - Administrative Requirements. B. Product Data: Manufacturer's data sheets on each product to be used, including: 1. Preparation instructions and recommendations. 2. Storage and handling requirements and recommendations. 3. Installation methods. C. Samples: For each product specified, one sample representing actual product color, size, and finish. 1.5 Delivery, Storage, and Handling A. Deliver and store products in manufacturer's unopened packaging bearing the brand name and manufacturer's identification until ready for installation. B. Store products on a flat and level surface. Adjust support blocks accordingly. C. For detailed storage recommendations: Trex Literature 1.6 Project Conditions A. Maintain environmental conditions, temperature, humidity, and ventilation within limits recommended by manufacturer for optimum results. Do not install products under environmental conditions outside manufacturer's recommended limits.

Design and Performance Requirements: 1. Fire-Surface Burning Characteristics per ASTM E84. 2. Code Compliance: a. International Building Code (IBC) - 2018 and 2021. b. International Residential Code (IBC) - 2018 and 2021. c. Florida Building Code (FBC) - 2023. Excluding high velocity hurricane zone, HVHZ. d. Intertek Research Report: No. CCRR-0325. Proof of code compliance. 1) Tested to ASTM D7032-14. 2) Tested to ASTM E330-14. 3) Tested to ASTM E84-16. 4) Tested to AC524 5) Tested to NDS-2018. 6) Tested to AISI S100-16
B. Wood-Plastic Composite Lumber (WPC): a. Material Description: Composite Decking consisting of recycled Linear Low-Density Polyethylene (LLDPE) and recycled wood. The product is extruded into shapes and sizes as follows: i. Trex Transcend / Trex Signature Decking Boards (nominal dimensions); 1” x 5.5”. ii. Lengths – 12, 16, and 20 feet iii. Color – To be specified by owner from Trex’ standard list of colors. b. Cladding Attachment to Steel Furring Strips: Trex Literature PART 3 Execution 3.1 Examination A. Do not begin installation until substrates have been properly prepared. B. If substrate preparation is the responsibility of another installer, notify Architect of unsatisfactory preparation before proceeding. 3.2 Preparation A. Clean surfaces thoroughly prior to installation. B. Prepare surfaces using the methods recommended by the manufacturer for achieving the best result for the substrate under the project conditions. C. A copy of the manufacturer's instructions must be available to installers on the jobsite during installation. 3.3 Installation A. Install in accordance with manufacturer's instructions, applicable codes, and Intertek Research Report No. CCRR-0325, approved submittals, and in proper relationship with adjacent construction. B. Cut, drill, and rout using carbide tipped blades. C. Do not use composite wood material for structural applications 3.4 Cleaning A.
