Specific Responsibilities Client Service • Act as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL) in the absence of the DSL. • Assess, and respond to, safeguarding cases to ensure consistent application and adherence to University policies and procedures. • Assist with case management, identifying where cases may inter-connect with other University policies and procedures. • Contribute to the development of resources to educate students on issues relating to Safeguarding, Prevent and Welfare. • Arrange, promote and/or deliver harm prevention activities and initiatives to students and staff across the University. • Monitor student queries and feedback and respond in a timely manner. Business delivery • Contribute to the development and effective implementation of the University’s Safeguarding Policy and procedures by providing advice and guidance to all users of the University. • Be active in the development of policies and procedures to ensure ongoing compliance with external legislation. • Ensure that records are kept and maintained in accordance with auditing requirements. • Support the continued implementation and development of Safeguarding and Prevent action plans. • Assist with the development and delivery of a comprehensive programme of training across the University to ensure the University meets its safeguarding responsibilities. • Co-ordinate and keep records of who has completed training in liaison with other HR and teams across the University. • Monitor and maintain data to identify and action any trends in safeguarding issues. • Ensure compliance with the safeguarding requirements of regulators for example, the Office for Students (OfS), and Ofsted. Team Management • Promote and sustain constructive, supportive and friendly working relationships with all clients, external and internal, immediate and senior management and other work colleagues. • Develop and form relationships with external support agencies which may benefit University of Law students. • Liaise, support and work effectively with other teams to ensure safeguarding at the University is effective and complies with safeguarding assessment systems the support the Universities New Academic Model.
